"Upon discussing this book with other women, I was absolutely shocked to find out that they too, do their partners’ and teen children’s laundry. Other members of the household won’t appreciate your hard work if they don’t experience it for themselves"

I really enjoyed your review of the book, I may have to read it myself. However I have learned a great deal over the last 9 years of marriage, and raising two small boys, if your children do not see the example of housekeeping, they will struggle with laundry or any other task. I have a friend that never was an example to her fourteen year old son, she would let the clothes pile up and then would tell him to put them in the wash-claiming, he has to learn. While he may learn how to turn on the machine he will never learn how to keep up with the ever-growing laundry pile because it was never modeled for him. I do agree with you that at some point in a childs life they must exhibit responsibility and be held accountable, in many areas of their life, including the dirty socks, area. We must as parents be the example and allow them to learn from our model. Perhaps those women you asked, were still modeling this for the children and simply have not yet allowed for their teen, to become accountable in this area. Perhaps it is a disservice to the teen in the long run, hopefully they were paying attention while Mom or Dad were loading the washer! lol.
Thank you for this I will check out the book.
