We are currently accepting applications for an adventurous and tech-savvy Online Events Coordinator to help facilitate literary events for the forthcoming International Women’s Day Virtual Festival 2011. Working from the comfort of one’s own home-office, the successful coordinator will undertake tasks related to the planning and organization of various virtual events, including but not limited to hosted author readings, writing workshops, and panel discussions. Work includes general research and correspondence with authors, publishers, booksellers, and academics, as well as maintaining a project calendar and weekly attendance to staff meetings via Skype internet conference call.
This volunteer post requires an 8-10 per week commitment and will be for an initial period of 3 months (October – December) with the possibility of an extension.
Volunteers must be comfortable working independently and on their own initiative. Prior administrative experience and strong IT skills (including web development) are preferred. A demonstrated interest in literature and the arts is essential.
