Her Circle Ezine seeks a blog coordinator/writer for inContext. The coordinator will find writers in cities across the U.S. and abroad for the inContext blog series. Working virtually, the coordinator will undertake directed and independent research on established and emerging women writers and scholars of feminist literature. The coordinator will assist with the production of editorial content for inContext.
The coordinator must be able to commit to eight hours per week for an initial period of 3 months (June-August), with the possibility of continuing. This is an unpaid, volunteer opportunity.
The coordinator should possess a demonstrated interest in feminist literature and/or social activism related to women’s issues on a global scale. Before applying, be certain to read previous blogs in order to familiarize yourself with the style of inContext and the mission of the blog. In addition, the ideal candidate should feel comfortable reaching out to writers/bloggers/publishers about guest blogging. The coordinator will contribute written material for the blog and will work with regular contributing writers in order to establish a weekly editorial schedule. As this work will be performed virtually, an ability to work independently and with consistency is critical, as are organization and time management skills.
To apply, send a letter of interest with resume/CV and a writing sample to sthorntonmorris@hercircleezine.com. Please submit writing samples similar to the blog style. The deadline for applications is Monday, 23 May, 2011. Only short-listed candidates will be notified. This post will commence on 1 June, 2011.
