Free screening of Gasland, a documentary on “fracking”

07.21.11 – FERNDALE, MI – Can you light your water on fire? This is a real concern for residents across the country whose water has been contaminated by horizontal hydraulic fracturing, or “fracking,” a dangerous method of natural gas extraction. Companies are already fracking in Pennsylvania and are rapidly buying up mineral rights in Michigan to begin this devasting practice. Please join us for a free screening of Gasland on July 21st and tell your friends.

Attendees will learn about the dangers associated with fracking and how Michigan’s drinking water is at risk.

Don’t miss this eye-opening and timely documentary about the gas industry’s irresponsibility, government inaction and the people whose lives have been changed forever. The images of people lighting their tap water on fire are unforgettable, and the rivers that bubble with natural gas are truly frightening. What’s worse, the people in the film are getting sick and it seems no one is able to help. Attend this screening of Gasland and learn what you can do to save our water from fracking.

On Thursday, July 21st at 7:00 p.m., join us for a screening of Gasland at the Ferndale Public Library co-hosted by our friends at Transition Ferndale.

RSVP and spread the word today!

Where can I view GASLAND for free?

  4. Good luck with your screening. We in NY are fighting the same battle. Don’t believe the gas company’s lies. This will not bring America energy independence. They are in the process here of pushing through approval of large unnecessary pipelines to transport the gas to the coast so they can liquify it and sell it overseas and they will destroy this country in the process.
