Born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in both Arkansas and California, Tracy Chiles McGhee, Esq. is a Community Activist, Passionate Writer, and Cultural Enthusiast. Recognized as one of “2011 Top 10 Women in Social Media” by Liberated Muse, she is the author of the blog Passionate Self by Tracy. Tracy is a multi-faceted artist whose poetry, fiction, and non-fiction have appeared in a variety of publications, such as Word Nation: An Anthology edited by Marita Golden, “Think; Poems for Aretha Franklin’s Inauguration Day Hat”, BOMB Magazine edited by Patricia Spears Jones, and Tidal Basin Review. Currently, Tracy is writing a novel which has the working title of Augustus.

She is also the Founder and Executive Director of WOMA. WOMA is a very successful Washington, DC-based non-profit whose mission is to develop and support programs that foster self-empowerment, sisterhood, and service and to positively impact the lives of women and girls, particularly those who are under-resourced and marginalized. Tracy is a graduate of San Francisco University High School, Georgetown University and Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law.

In this podcast, Tracy talks about WOMA and shares some inspirational insights into how to set up and successfully run a non-profit. She also reads excerpts from both her poetry and her current novel-in-progress.

Claire Hart has two great loves: art and communication. She enjoys communicating about art. Breaking down and exploring barriers to communication is how she earns her living. She lives her life partly in German and partly in English, but always in colour.
