Volunteer Editorial Assistant, What’s On Arts Calendar
Her Circle currently seeks a volunteer Editorial Assistant to support the What’s On arts calendar section.
Working virtually from her home office, the What’s On Editorial Assistant will be responsible for culling information from a variety of sources to create a regional list of exhibitions and events relevant to the Her Circle mission. Sources include press releases, correspondence, and internet research.
This internship position requires an 4hr per week commitment for an initial period of 3 months. The ideal volunteer aspires to a career in publishing, is computer literate.
Attendance to weekly staff meetings is conducted via Skype internet conference call.

Social Media Marketing Communications Intern
The Institute of Arts and Social Engagement is a new center of research, exhibition, and publication dedicated to advancing socially engaged creative practice in the literary, visual, and performing arts. The organization is set to grow in the next few months, and we are looking for a marketing and social media intern to assist with tasks related to social media marketing communications.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for social media, as well as strong organizational and communication skills. This position is offered as an unpaid part- time internship for a period of three months, with the possibility of joining our volunteer team should the working relationship prove satisfactory to both parties.
Our goal is to raise the profile of the organization and its related projects, including the publications HerCircleEzine.com, and Magnolia, A Journal of Women’s Socially Engaged Literature.
We are a small team, offering a wide range of hands-on-experience and invaluable insights into the changing landscape of the arts. We are looking for an intern who can exploit the full range of social media to support our marketing and PR campaigns, and work with us to help widen our reach to cultural and community organizations.
Working from his or her home office, the intern will be responsible for:
Updating Facebook and Twitter pages
Researching and developing online marketing resources
Preparing email campaigns
Drafting press releases to achieve media coverage
Handling of inquiries generated by digital marketing
Attend weekly meetings via Skype internet call
The Marketing Manager will provide assistance and input into copy-writing.
Applicants must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, technical aptitude, and social media experience.
This internship is offered for a total of 6 hours per week (flexible days and times) for an initial period of 3 months.
