What to submit
hercircleezine.com accepts submissions of articles, essays, interviews and reviews on topics related to socially engaged feminist literature, activism, and visual art practice.
Submissions are accepted via email, with the content pasted or typed into the body of the message; please do not send attachments. Querying the appropriate editorial department prior to submission is highly encouraged.

General feature articles for both Books & Literature, Activism, and Arts are between 1000 – 2000 words. General feature articles may be published at any time. Send emails to books[at]hercircleezine.com or arts[at]hercircleezine.com

UpClose Interviews
Monthly feature, interviewing female poets, writers, activists, and artists whose writing practice, literary work, activism, and/or artistic practice engages with social and political issues. UpClose Interviews are generally between eight and twelve questions. Stylistically, they may be written in Q&A format or as a feature article. Writing From the Margins (Books & Literature)
Monthly short feature series, introducing women writers from outside the United States. Emphasis given to writers from non-Western traditions, and works in translation. Must submit features for a minimum of 3 writers to include in the series. Word count: 500 – 1000 words per article in the series. Send queries or full submissions to books[at]hercircleezine.com
Artivist Archive {New!} (Arts)
New monthly feature providing an intimate view of the socially engaged artist in her creative space—this may be a studio or another place where the artist creates work. In this instance, “studio” may be interpreted broadly to investigate the many spaces of creativity, with a sharp focus on the artist’s tools and development of craft. Artists submit a feature introducing readers to her “studio” and practice. Up to four images may be included in the feature. Video excerpts from the artist may also be considered. We welcome well-written reviews of women’s socially engaged Fiction, Creative Non-fiction, Poetry, Criticism, and Artist’s Books published within the past 12 months.
